Dr. Stephane Gauthier, MD, FRCPC Dr Stephane Gauthier, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Stephane Gauthier is a gastroenterologist and internal medicine specialist serving patients across Northern Ontario from his practice at Northgate Square in North Bay. He brings over a decade of independent specialist experience to patients who might otherwise face long travel distances for care.

Trained at one of Canada's premier bilingual medical schools, Dr. Gauthier completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa in 2006. He achieved Royal College certification in Internal Medicine in 2010 and in Gastroenterology in 2011, entering independent specialist practice in North Bay that same year.

His clinical focus includes inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), liver disease, advanced endoscopic procedures, and general gastroenterology. He performs procedures at all three of his affiliated hospitals, making specialist endoscopy accessible throughout the region.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Gauthier has served as clinical faculty at NOSM University — Canada's first independent medical university, mandated to train physicians for Northern Ontario. He serves both English and French-speaking patients and is a committed resident of the North Bay community.

Formé dans l'une des meilleures facultés de médecine bilingues du Canada, le Dr Gauthier a obtenu son doctorat en médecine à l'Université d'Ottawa en 2006. Il a obtenu la certification du Collège royal en médecine interne en 2010 et en gastroentérologie en 2011, avant d'entrer en pratique spécialisée indépendante à North Bay la même année.

Sa pratique clinique comprend les maladies inflammatoires de l'intestin (maladie de Crohn et colite ulcéreuse), les maladies du foie, les procédures endoscopiques avancées et la gastroentérologie générale. Il effectue des procédures dans ses trois hôpitaux affiliés.

En plus de sa pratique clinique, le Dr Gauthier a été membre du corps professoral clinique de l'Université NOSM — la première université médicale indépendante du Canada, mandatée pour former des médecins pour le Nord de l'Ontario.
